About this Death Cafe
Death Cafes have been around for a while and seem to have had positive impact on the participants. Becoming comfortable with the idea of death may help us all live our best lives.
We have both had the experience of people coming to see us after a death has occurred to talk about it. What really happens is they talk and we listen.
Our hope is that if people can become comfortable with talking about death BEFORE it occurs, there may be less fear and anxiety when it actually does occur.
Cake and other refreshments will be provided but please bring your own beverage.
About Kent Schlussel and Kathleen Zimmer
Both Kent and Kathleen work in "death related " fields (Kent as a volunteer) and have had much feedback from people wanting to talk about death. We feel that it would be helpful for people to lose some of the fear of talking and thinking about death, especially if they could do so before they actually need to. We are there to act as moderators only- this will not be led by us in any way.
