About this Death Cafe
Death and cake on a summers evening!
But really its all about life. Recognising our own mortality and getting the most from life while you can.
About Nigel George
Nigel George (AKA ‘the Village Solicitor’) has worked in the legal profession for over 30 years.
Throughout his career and life he has frequently encountered the effects of growing old, death and dementia. On turning 50 he was struck by the fact he was only five years away from qualifying for sheltered housing. He wants to challenge the many stereotypes which are applied as you grow older.
Nigel is a member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). He is also a member of the National Council of Palliative Care, the Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Friends and a Death Cafe facilitator. He believes it’s just as important to consider the person as the legal problem they face. He is also something of a death junkie in that he will happily talk about life and death at the drop of a hat.
For him it is all about living not dying. In the words of the Pharaoh's; Did you bring joy to the world and have you found joy?
