About this Death Cafe

Both Adrian and Aly have hosted Death Cafes before.  Adrian says that 'Death Cafes are a natural and comfortable environment. Mentioning death, the deceased, personal mortality and dying is openly welcomed and is not sanitised or ignored'.  

Aly Dickinson believes that talking about Death and Dying is not taboo 'We need to get back to the time when death was treated as part of life.  At a Death Cafe there can be sadness and grief but there is joy, luaghter, support and honesty too',

About Adrian Eden & Alizoun Dickinson

Adrian Eden was previously a Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths before retraining as a Funeral Celebrant.  Adrian is relocating to live in East Devon.  He conducts personal ceremonies which honour the beliefs and wishes of the deceased and the family.  

Aly Dickinson lives in Sidmouth and is an End of Life Doula. She has trained with a voluntary organisation called Living Well Dying Well and has recently been appointed as a Director on their governing body. Aly formerly worked as a Human Resources Director
