About this Death Cafe

I have attended 3 Death Cafes now in Melbourne and feel excited about running one myself . My friend Paula has agreed to support me to host our first Death Cafe .

We have invited 6 friends to our first cafe to get us started and therefore this one won’t be open to the general public .

Going forward we plan to make our events public.

My intrigue with death and dying goes back to my childhood when we were asked as children to sing at the funerals of people unknown to us. 

I am currently writing about my interest in dying and read widely around this topic particularly the rituals and processes practised by different cultures at the end of life .

I am interested in hearing  how other people feel about the dying process and also to provide a safe place for interested people to openly discuss death .
