About this Death Cafe

Our society doesn't make it easy for people to talk about death and that is what a Death Cafe does.  We'll make time to talk and think about death, dying and life in a safe, comfortable setting.

I think it's a wonderful idea - whose time has come - for people to gather, enjoy delicious desserts and beverages while talking about death, the final taboo in our culture. The atmosphere helps everyone relax and feel looked after so we can each open up, ask questions, and share thoughts.

The Death Cafe Carmel is free from ideology - I will introduce a discussion while not leading anyone toward a specific conclusion about death or the afterlife.  Participants will be asked to respect one another's views, and views expressed are kept confidential.

The Death Cafes in Carmel are free, but registration is required because seating is currently limited to 12 participants.

Death Cafes Carmel are held on the third Sunday of each month on July 20, Aug. 17, Sept 21, Oct 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 21, 2014.

Adults (18 years or older) interested in talking about death, dying and related topics and who pre-register are welcome!  To pre-register call Elaine at 317-730-5481.
