About this Death Cafe
Our strapline is
"Grief has no rules. Sometimes you've just got to put on your wellies and stomp through the mud day by day "
You can read some of the blogs I have done to date here:

About Cathryn Watters
I set up Grief Wellies website and facebook group after I lost my mum. She was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour and died 6 weeks later. As a cancer nurse myself I was surprised at the impact it had on me as i thought I woudl be more prepared. People I thought were close friends ran away and those I didnt' consider as friends stepped up. My children, in whom I see parts of mum every day, had their own responses and at times I was unable to deal with them. My husband had his own grief response - we all dealt with it on own own but also together eventually.
Grief wellies was set up to take the mystery out of death and dying - no frills - it can be pretty raw.
I have been thinking of running a Death Cafe for a while not so its great to get it off the ground - anything goes as long as we talk and break some of those taboos.
