Any Day Now Edinburgh Fringe

Following the loss of a childhood friend, Evie is on a quest to find the meaning of life and leave behind a legacy before she turns 23. It seems simple enough until spending the morning at her cousin's Death Cafe leaves her wondering if life and death might not be so simple after all. Any Day Now is a poignant and comedic one-person show exploring thanataphobia (fear of dying) and how to share humour, humility, and empathy with those facing a shortened life.

Seeking Your Perspectives

Posted by CocoEcke on May 16, 2023, 11:43 a.m.

To whomever is reading this,

This is a sensitive subject and the following lines are expressed with respect and care.

I'm working for a globally published author, who is writing her new book about how to live a meaningful life, but specifically from the perspectives of people who currently have or who have had a relationship with death.

We believe this perspective is infinitely valuable when it comes to teaching people how to truly live.

With this post, I'm looking for anyone who has faced end of life and is open to answer a few questions around it in order to contribute to a powerful resource for people on how to live life to the fullest.

By contributing, a framework of advice for people can be crafted regarding living a fulfilling life.

No personal details will be shared in the book, neither do we need your name, you can stay completely anonymous.

What the author is looking to do is to take the valuable insight that are shared and convert it into advice for people to live by.
So even though we seek insights from people who have faced end of life, the questions and book center around how to live a fulfilling life.
Some questions, as an example, are: How has your experience changed your perspective on life? What do you wish you would have known or learned sooner? What makes life worth living?

If you're open to looking at the questions that we crafted for contributors to answer, please folloe the link above to the questionnaire.

If hou have any questions, please reach out to me any time.

Thank you so much.

Cora

Research on Death Cafés

Posted by Chris Miller on March 28, 2023, 3:53 p.m.

Research on Death Cafés

As a sub-project within the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project, we seek to gain a better understanding of the Death Café movement, and how people discuss and share their outlooks on death and dying through these events.

We are seeking to conduct group interviews with people who have previously attended a Death Café.

Group interviews will take place over Zoom technology, be conducted in English, and last for approximately 40 to 60 minutes. Interviews will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for roughly 6-8 participants. Participation is voluntary and there is no compensation. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Death awareness intervention study

I'm conducting an experiment research on death awareness, aiming to examine the effects of contemplating death through this pilot writing-based intervention.

To engage with this research, you will:
  1. complete first survey (10-15mins)
  2. do the intervention in one week, starting with a writing exercise in the first day and reflecting on that on the following days. (total ~1 hour during one week)
  3. complete the second survey (10-15mins)
Once you agree to take part in, a detail of the intervention will be sent to your mail.

Here, I'm inviting all adults, who are interested in death awareness or who simply want to discover a deeper of themselves to ...

WhenYouDie.org - All things death and dying

WhenYouDie.org - All things death and dying

WhenYouDie.org is a wonderful resource for all things death and dying. There are podcasts, stories, articles, and a documentary series focused on what happens when you die. The first film in the series, In the Realm of Death & Dreaming, asks the big question: Does consciousness continue after death, or is it lights out?

As we all know, exploring what happens after death not only helps us decide how we want to be cared for at the end of life, but it reduces our fear of death. The When You Die team believes talking about death isn’t dangerous but, conversely, can nurture happier, healthier individuals and families ...

Aufruf: Was ich dir noch sagen wollte....

Wohin mit der Trauer, wenn man sich als Angehöriger nicht verabschieden konnte?

YET TO SAY :“Was ich dir noch sagen wollte…“

Natural Death Salon

Posted by Josefine Speyer on Sept. 10, 2021, 1:49 a.m.

I have invited Rosie of the Natural Death Centre to talk to us at the next Salon on Sunday 19 September at 3pm.
You are welcome to join us. Booking is via Eventbrite.

 We have two ticket options:
You can either pay the usual fee of £15 or donate what you can afford to pay.

Rosie knows everything there is to know about funerals and natural burial and has lots of stories to tell.
It’s a brilliant opportunity for getting information and a great chance to have a conversation with someone who has inside knowledge of the funeral industry, social trends, knows about problems that can arise and how best to avoid them. See you there! If you have any questions, do get in touch.

Josefine

Covid 19 has meant that there have been times over the past year when attending a loved ones funeral was not allowed, due to local or national lockdown restrictions. Restrictions concerning the amount of guests allowed to attend funerals and travel restictions still stand. However, even without being present at the funeral there are different ways that you can honor and remember the deceased.
