About Grief Wellies:
I set up Grief Wellies as a facebook site to support those who were grieving. Having been a cancer nurse for over 25 years I always thought I had a fairly good handle on death and dying. Then I lost my mum - she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour and within 6 weeks she had died. The process for me has been surprising and one of the things I decided when starting on it was to set up a Death Cafe. A space for people to talk openly about death and dying and everything inbetween.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
As above I have always worked in cancer nursing but since losing my mum have wanted to do more on a personal level for my local community
What would you like your legacy to be?
Tried her best, made mistakes but never promised what she couldn't do.
Thoughts for sharing:
"Grief has no rules. Sometimes you've just got to put on your wellies and stomp through the mud day by day "
