About Taiwanese-Canadian community in Metro Vancouver, Canada:
I am a retired college instructor, currently, working as a volunteer at a Palliative Care Unit in a large hospital in Vancouver, Canada, as well as at a hospice.
I am very interested in topics related to life and death, trying to learn invaluable lessons from them; I have also given talks at various organizations sharing my experiences as a palliativecare/hospice volunteer, and helping people ease their fears towards death/better preparing for it.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I first learned of it from the newsletter at our hospice, and subsequently attended a Death Cafe and a similar activity.
I intend to host a Death Cafe sometime in the near future targeting the Mandarin-speaking audeince in Metro Vancouver.
What would you like your legacy to be?
I'd like others who know me to think I have made their lives a little better and the world a better place for the future generations, albeit very small or insignificantly.
Thoughts for sharing:
Dr. Elizabethe Kubler-Ross said The dying have learned lots of life lessons, but unfortunately they won't have the opportunities to apply these lessons in their lives. However, as volunteers working with with them, we have the opportunities to learn to use them. I am really grateful!
