About Emma Edwards:
My name is Emma Edwards and I’m the facilitator of Death Café Bristol. I work in Bristol as a solution-focused hypnotherapist; in this role I have a particular interest in working with those with death anxiety, and long-term or life-limiting illnesses. I am also training to be an end-of-life doula, and volunteering at the in-patients ward at St Peter’s hospice. I have also started a death acceptance themed blog, which you can find at www.notbeingmorbid.com
What brings you to Death Cafe?
Bereavement is something I have experienced a lot of in my life, and the last few years have really been a personal journey though healing from those. The thing that helped me most in this respect has been researching death acceptance and positivity. I learned about the Death Café movement earlier this year at a death conference in London, and the idea really excited me, so taking over Death Café Bristol has been a real privilege. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Death Cafe write up: Death Cafe Bristol
Posted by Emma Edwards on Oct. 13, 2014, 7 a.m.
Caleb Parkin writes about his first experience of a Death Cafe after attending the Bristol Death Cafe on the 7th September 2014:
Out from the bright Sunday sun and down the steps, onto a bright carpet of flowers, a bright carpet of flowery crockery, atop immaculately laid tables. We’re here, among these far-from-funeral blooms, to meet new people, drink tea, eat cake and talk about death. Err, why?
The talk flows from the teapots and between us: of what we think this ‘death’ thing is; of what we’d like to happen for our own funerals, when we shuffle-off, tune-out, move on, or whatever other euphemism you ...
