This was a particularly interesting Death Cafe. Although we had said that the group should be no more than 15 people, 19 people turned up and many had not confirmed. The conversation was spilt in two parts people who wanted to debate the laws around dying, paperwork etc and then people who wished to discuss the spirituality around death. Four people repeated those who had been in the first one. Ages ranged from 30 to 85 a very nice intergenerational activity.
Very enriching evening and looking forward to organising one death cafe every 2 months with the hope to organise one monthly.

This was the first death cafe to have been held in Getxo, in Algorta. Initially people were taken by surprise because they thought it would be an organised discussion and a talk. However the discussion began and when it came to close the people were surprised at how fast the time had gone. Much of the conversation was around children and how to talk to children about death.
The consensus was that the people would like to repeat the experience.

The death cafe was attended by 15 people. It was the first event of this kind in the region and people were not sure what to expect. Conversation flowed and in the evaluation at the end in general people felt that it was a good idea and people felt that they had had a safe space to be able to discuss how they felt, their ideas and beliefs. We discussed books and movies. People talked about personal experiences and how that has changed how they see death. We talked about death as taboo and how death is dealt with in schools. One person asked the group to share ...
