Great Conversation and Group!
A write up of Venice, FL Death Cafe - an important conversation

Our Death Cafe event held over 15 people. Our room was cozy and everyone shared thoughts, experiences, and beliefs. We had plenty of treats and refreshments. I also put on display some resources (provided by the National Institutes of Health) and library books for attendees to explore if desired.
A few attendees told me how meaningful it was for them. That's what this is all about!
We plan to hold a Death Cafe in the same location quarterly, so the next one is in July and then again in October. We have a lot of 'snowbirds' who leave hot and humid Florida in the summer so there will likely be a smaller group. But this provides continuity for those who stay and there are less events in the summer.
Thank you Death Cafe organizers and the late Jon Underwood (and his family) for the support and motivation for this movement. It's so important to tap into areas we have pushed to the side for too long.
